Interconnected Learning and Teaching. ILT Association for Foreign Languages

Considering the latest technological and multimedia developments, one may notice the appearance of new digital forms of intercultural communication, of knowledge transfer and of data illustration and storage. This accelerated multimedia development of the society and of the labor market alike influences the general framework of the transfer of knowledge and skills in the didactics of foreign languages, thus requiring interconnected approaches in the expansion of intercultural skills when learning foreign languages, both in schools and in universities.

The ILT Association is a professional association for teachers of foreign languages and is a non-profit, private, non-patrimonial, non-governmental, and apolitical legal entity since 2024. The main purpose of the ILT Association is to support and promote education and research in the field of foreign languages, specialized didactics, and pedagogy. To achieve this purpose, the ILT Association will carry out the following activities, known as DOSA-objectives. It aims to:

-        Develop collaborations and joint projects:

o   between school and university educational institutions, promoting inter-institutional and personal collaboration between teachers;

o   between public and private educational institutions;

o   with the socio-economic field on topics of common interest;

-        Organize:

o   scientific events (workshops, workgroups, conferences and congresses, meetings and round tables, summer schools, etc.) for teachers from all public and private educational institutions, researchers, and students;

o   cultural events of broader interest to promote foreign languages and cultures at national and international levels;

o   educational activities for young teachers and students (trainings and mentoring programs);

o   continuous and advanced training activities, both formal and informal, for teachers from public and private educational institutions;

-        Support:

o   young teachers and students through mentoring programs and the organization of extracurricular activities (study visits, specialized practice and pedagogical practice, exchange of experiences, summer schools, etc.).

o   the participation of ILT Association members in national and international scientific events, also supporting the publication and dissemination of studies in the field of specialized didactics and pedagogy;

o   translations, editions, and publication of scientific works in the field of pedagogy and specialized didactics;

-        Award:

o    scholarships and prizes for outstanding achievements in education and research for both experienced teachers and young teachers and students;

o   social scholarships to students interested in pioneering teaching techniques and strategies.

The DOSA-objectives aim to engage the teaching community in a constructive dialogue about the current trends and challenges of interconnected learning, to create a genuine and productive network between teachers of different foreign languages, between representatives of various public and private educational institutions and between representatives of the labor market. In order to make this extensive and interconnected dialogue truly relevant, we look forward to enlarging our community.
